ArrowResources AG is a global commodity trading house headquartered in Switzerland and is seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity  to join its rapidly growing business.  We are recruiting a dynamic Head of Shipping to join our team as a permanent member of staff in our offices in Athens.  The ArrowResources group of companies is an integrated commodities trading house, actively trading base metals, concentrates, ores, natural gas, LNG, power, crude oil and oil products.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Set up and manage the Dry Bulk Freight Desk, and the execution of Freight Trading, and Operations in conjunction with Owners and Charterers.
  • Preparation of business plans for existing and new lines of Freight Trading flows and trades.
  • Develop and execute profitable ship trading strategies that achieve an acceptable return
  •  Originate new time charters, COA’s or other term deal structures
  • Relet time-chartered vessels to optimize vessel earnings
  •  Manage the Freight trading desk with other members of the freight team
  • Participate in effective challenge around point-of-view/position/ freight trading strategy   
  • Mange Physical and Operations in the area of responsibility to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency of positions
  •  Maintain and develop new customer/vendor relationships with owners, brokers and charterers
  • Negotiate the contractual terms of charter parties
  •  Communicate freight information within the organization
  • Liaise with and advise Logistics Team on operational and logistics issues
  •  Liaise with other groups in particular Risk Control, Compliance & Credit, Back Office and Finance
  • Supervise and coach associate employees on a regular basis
  • Act as a main interface between Physical Freight Desk and Derivative Desk with a prime goal to maximize P&L and return.

Job Requirements

  • University maritime related degree
  • Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in dry bulk chartering or as a senior operator with huge exposure in Supra/Ultra, Handy/Handymax/Supramax  vessels and Atlantic exposure
  • Knowledge of shipping cargoes and familiar with all related laws and regulations
  • Good network with cargo interest, operators/charterers within the shipping industry
  • Fluent in English
